The Arts Council of Ladysmith & District is partnering with CVRD Arts & Culture, South Cowichan Arts Guild, Arts at Cowichan Lake, Cowichan Valley Arts Council & Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society. The Recognition & Recollection Exhibition will be held in the lobby of the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) from Jan. 8 – Feb. 28, 2026. CPAC expects about 8,000 patrons during that time.

 

Recognition and Recollection aims to amplify the impact of art on mental health. Artists know how important creating and experiencing creativity is for well-being. This initiative magnifies the significance art and culture have on our mental heath and the human experience.

 

Artist are invited to submit work that explore the following themes:

 

Mental Health Challenge

Memory, Consciousness & the Self

Alzheimer’s & Cognitive Decline

Art as Health Advocacy

Mental Health & Complex Social Issues

States of Being

Submission Fee: $25 per piece

Commission: 20%

Drop Off: To Be Confirmed

Pick Up: March 1, 2026 – 8:30AM – 12PM

Registration opens October 29th at 10AM.
