The Big Move
About the ACLD
Art is Here!
The Arts Council of Ladysmith and District (ACLD) is the most comprehensive visual arts organization in Ladysmith! Our goal is to bring together artists & arts lovers of all styles and mediums and to provide artistic opportunities and experiences within the community and surrounding areas. The ACLD is made of up various departments and also includes a gallery space right in the heart of downtown Ladysmith.
The Ladysmith Gallery hosts monthly art exhibitions that any registered member can submit works to. Our membership base includes artists from all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, so each exhibition features a diverse group of artists from these areas. The Ladysmith Gallery also includes a boutique store of smaller local artworks and also holds special guest artist exhibitions that are open to the public.
The ACLD boasts a thriving and professional arts education program for people of all ages and experience levels. Offering a wide range of classes and workshops led by working professional artists, there truly is something for everyone.
From arts shows to art classes, resources to special events such as our two day juried Arts on the Avenue Festival, the ACLD continues to grow and supports artists in this region.

The Arts Council of Ladysmith and District would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the land on which we work. The LAC has the privilege of operating in the territory and traditional homeland of the Stz'uminus First Nation. We are thankful to the many First Nations, who call this home and share their culture with us.
