About the Event

Work with experienced instructor and craftsperson, Andrew Kent, to make and take home your own classic willow chair. This single-day workshop is a great introduction to rustic building, and the specific chair design we will be using comes from Kentucky. We will use alder for the frame and willow for benders. All tools and materials provided.

Note that you will be on your feet for much of the day. Each participant is welcome to bring along one person to assist them.

Please Bring:

  • A full water bottle and a bagged lunch
  • Clothes that you can move easily in

Andrew has been building willow furniture and garden art, as well as teaching workshops on Vancouver Island, for over 25 years. Using traditional rustic designs, as well as his own ideas, Andrew strives to create a meeting place for art and craft, function and form.
