About the Event

In this 4-day Spring Break Camp, students will be introduced to the art of puppetry with a focus on theatrical table top puppets. Participants will be guided through an exploration of puppetry design, construction, manipulation and story development. They will build their own table top puppet using simple materials and techniques, and will learn how to operate their puppet, exploring breath, focus, response and posture. Playing in groups, students will develop short scenes using their puppets.

In other words, while playing with materials, a puppet will be born through the children's creativity.

The puppets will tell participants how they want to move and what story they want to tell!

Each participant is asked to bring their own lunch, water bottle, and clothes that they can get a little paint, glue, and clay on.

Children must be at least 8-years old by the start of this camp.
