About the Event

In this workshop, we will learn to create prints, combine them with collage elements, and transfer a design onto another surface. We will start with creating monoprints using a gelli plate with mark-making tools, stencils, and colour. Then, we will look at how to move beyond prints on paper to adding other elements and ways to display our work. We will work to create a whimsical forest, or an abstract work of art on canvas to take home. All supplies are included.

Meet Your Instructor

Francesca's background is in printmaking, but she also has a love for collage and book arts. Her work usually features bright colors and patterns, and she enjoys combining different techniques together. She holds a BA in visual arts and theatre from Vancouver Island University, and she also teaches at Nanaimo Ceramic Arts and the Artists in the Schools program with the Nanaimo Art Gallery.
