Create charming memories of beloved pets through Penny’s unique heart-led drawing and painting process. In this workshop, suitable for beginner to intermediate artists, aged 16 years and up, you’ll be guided in basic sketching, expressive ink linework, and gentle touches of watercolour. Gain confidence, skills, and inspiration for a lifetime of creativity. Take home pages of lovely fur-friend mini-portraits.

Bring the following materials with you:

• Watercolour or mix media sketchbook (blue Canson Mix Media 9x12 is recommended)

• HB or softer pencil

• Pencil sharpener

• Pencil eraser

• Kneaded eraser

• 2 or 3 smooth flowing black ink pens (Sharpie Pens are ideal, but NO markers)

• Watercolour paint set

• Container for paint water

• 2 or 3 watercolour brushes – at least one round and one flat, pencil size or smaller

• Tissues or clean absorbent lint-free rags

• Coloured pencils **OPTIONAL**

• Plenty of pet photos

• A packed lunch

About the instructor: Penny is an internationally-known art educator with a lifetime of experience drawing critters.  Penny’s intent is to meet each student exactly where they are and help them develop their practice in their own meaningful way. Penny delights in rendering the nature of beloved pets through expressive linework and simple shading. She is intrigued by the similarities between humans and other animals.
