About the Event
In this four-day visual arts camp, participants will be invited to find inspiration from myths and legends. From mythical creatures to characters from well known tales, or even stories of your child's own creation. Half of each day will be spent working on paintings and sculptures with acclaimed artist, Tylor McNeil, who is widely known for his floral paintings, and the other half of each day will cover working with clay and mixed media with celebrated artist and art educator, Jennifer O'Brien. Both instructors bring with them a wealth of experience in visual arts. Between all the fun art activities, there will be supervised play, lunch, and snack breaks. Students can expect to come away with a strengthened sense of creative self-expression and a fresh appreciation for the imaginative fun and possibilities of making art.
Children must be at least 6-years old by the start of this camp.
Each participant is asked to bring their own lunch, water bottle, and clothes that they can get a little paint, glue, and clay on.
Note:
If your child requires additional one-on-one support, they are welcome to attend with a responsible helper arranged by the parent/guardian. On a case-by-case basis, providing a responsible helper may be a requirement for participation. Please contact the education coordinator at education@ladysmitharts.ca or 250-245-1252 to discuss the unique needs of your child.
Please complete the Student Emergency Contact and Profile Form and prior to the start of the camp.
