About the Event

In this one day workshop, suitable for folks who are new or new-ish to the world of printmaking, we will explore an assortment of techniques, including drypoint carving and collage, to create textured plates (collagraphs). We will be using non-toxic water-based inks and the big press. Other topics we'll cover include shop maintenance and safety as well as printmaking terminology. Each participant will go home with a collection of prints and a better understanding of printmaking, this particular form and how to use our print studio.

Please Bring:

  • A full water bottle and a bagged lunch
  • Clothes that can get a bit messy
  • Optional: Bring in a reference photo as a guide while creating your plate; You can also bring in items to experiment with for adding textures (items must not be too bulky, and you will not be taking them home in their original form)
