About the Event
Join us for a beginner-friendly ceramics workshop where creativity takes flight! In this hands-on class, you'll learn foundational clay techniques to design and build sculptural yet functional birdhouses. Using simple hand-building methods, we’ll explore form, texture, and design in a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether you're new to clay or looking to expand your skills, this course offers a fun and imaginative approach to ceramics—perfect for nature lovers and creative spirits alike.
In the first session, participants will hand-build their own unique birdhouse using slabs of clay. You'll learn basic construction techniques, how to join pieces securely, and how to incorporate texture and decorative elements.
The second session will focus on glazing—for this project we will use iron wash technique. Participants will have a finished, kiln-fired ceramic whimsical and weather-friendly birdhouse within 2 weeks of the last session.
