About the Event
Over the course of four classes, learn the joy of keeping a gluebook. I will teach you the basics of altering several kinds of books, explain the various glues available and help you build a fun collection of images. I will bring several examples of my own gluebooks for you to flip through. We will then create backgrounds, break from perfectionism and let our inner artist free to explore. I will demonstrate various compositions, cutting techniques and an introduction to bringing in simple mixed media. By the end of our last class together I hope to ignite your love for just gluing it down! Inspiration will find us at work, and this is the perfect class for those looking to start a creative journey or if you’re just needing a break from getting stuck in perfectionism.
Come enjoy collecting fun images from my stash of vintage magazines, old books and tons more. We’re gonna leave each class with glue on our fingers and the joy of creating fueling us forward.

About Your Instructor:
Bella Doyle, Pocket Full of Ponder
Hi! Nice to Meet you:) I am currently a stay at home mother of three and a self taught mixed-media, multi disciplinary artist. Though my focus right now is a lot of collage. I run a free collage club in Nanaimo and my passion is building creative community and making art accessible. I love haring online and especially trading art through the mail all over the world. I am venturing into teaching and having a lot of fun along the way!
I really love using found objects in my personal work, building books with discarded objects and giving old things a new life. I think that art is so important for connecting with yourself and others. I love making art that is about the process of creating and highlights the joy of imperfection. I believe everyone can make art, you just need a gentle nudge to get started.
