The Find and The Gift tell a narrative together. The Find: The flowers at the top of the The Find represent the natural abundance of earth. The mystical raven, which slips in and out of realities, could not resist taking earth's pearls. The Find was created on cradled wood panel. Acrylic inks were used on bare wood, which gives interesting effect when absorbed into the wood grain. This shows on the moon where the raven stands, as well as in the sky and a few flowers at the top of the painting. Acrylic paints, paint pens and water based wax pastels are used to paint in the details. The sides of the panel are painted a neutral blue black shade and does not require a frame. The Gift: After finding treasure in The Find, the raven magically travels through dimensions to honour someone special with one of the pearls. Is he honouring a deceased love, his heritage, or his own former life, or...? The Gift was created on cradled wood panel. Acrylic inks were used on bare wood, which gives interesting effect when absorbed into the wood grain. This shows in three orbs and part of the sky. Acrylic paints, paint pens and water based wax pastels were used to paint in the details. The sides of the panel are painted a neutral but black shade and does not require a frame.
