Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em...for this may take awhile to fix. This painting speaks to the transience of time and the vagaries of life. An old gent is painted in an ephemeral state against a background of red (burning?) foliage. I sought to lend psychological weight to the work by focusing on atmosphere and palette. Shadows introduce a narrative element. Are they threatening or reassuring? Framed in a front-load frame made of fir.
