Artist Info for Online Gallery

It is Time for us to have a presence in digital space!

We are introducing something new to us….something exciting…something that will expand our service to our members….and something that we are in the business of constructing and refining. It will just get better as we go along and as more members take advantage of the opportunities provided by on-line shopping. We hope to expand our audience and provide more access to the many talents displayed in our Waterfront Gallery each month.


Our on-line shows will continue the monthly themes of the regular physical show in the Waterfront Gallery and will be launched at the same time as the official opening.

The on-line shows will remain on the web for a 3 month term and will be open for business even after the physical show has changed.

The on-line gallery will accept payment for a piece that sells, and will include a 7% tax. Payment to the member will be as usual, the gallery taking 40% on all artwork sold on-line. Artist who have sold works are paid monthly, in the month following the sale. Payments to artists are made when accumulated sales reach $50 or more, or by the end of the calendar year



All members are eligible to contribute to the online show. You do not need to have a piece in the gallery to submit to the online show. If choosing to participate in the new monthly on-line show which will run concurrently with the gallery show, members must provide photographs of their entries. 


Up to three works per person may be included in the virtual gallery, and they must be the same ones that are in the physical show.

How to submit your work…….

A clear and well- lit photo of your piece(s) will need to be submitted. (see below)

    1. Photo(s) should be 500 kb, 1500 to 2500 pixels wide

    2. Photo(s) should be saved as a .JPEG

    3. Please save the photo(s) as title_artistname_membernumber

  2.   You will need to fill out the online gallery submission form. (see below)

The Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery respects the cultural rights of First Nations and asks that artists' work be culturally appropriate in its content.


Note: More than one picture of a piece of 3-D art is acceptable

On-line entries close at 6pm on the Friday before the opening.

Should a member sell a piece of work privately, LAC must be notified immediately so the image can be removed from the virtual gallery. Honour rules about sales commissions to the gallery should apply during the three month term of on-line exposure.
